So a month has passed by since Mackenzie Blue book 1 officially hit the stands. Since then, there's been a lot of buzz surrounding the new tween book series and the author's plans to take it to the top.

Starting from the top, Harper Collins has created a micro-site for Mackenzie Blue. It offers profiles on the kids, interactive extras, and a video documentary on the author, Tina Wells.  Wanna see? Go HERE.

Publisher's Weekly gave us some good press, and the article talks about how the author is reaching out to the youth market by cross-promoting it on multi-media platforms like getting music publishing companies involved, like Cherry Lane, and is even in talks for an animated TV series! You read read up on that and more, HERE.

Mackenzie Blue flip cover artLast month, I was asked to draw Mackenzie for her very first cover shot, on the flip cover of Girls' Life Magazine! It's pretty cool to see something I've created featured as a model for a magazine. I have to admit, I think there's humor when I can say I made the cover of Girls' Life Magazine! , but you know what? I'm down with it. Being an illustrator takes me into so many industries, and in this case, it's for a teen girl fashion magazine, and that's rad.  Even though I've entered my 30's, I still love watching cartoons, Tiffany was my teen idol, and I love watching teen movies.

Just don't ask me to get into those Jonas Brothers kids. That's a bit advanced for even an open minded big kid like me.
